Join HEC Seed, the biggest seed-stage startup event organized for the Startup scene in France and outside by HEC Paris students! We are a conference with the mission to foster interest around entrepreneurship and accelerate innovative projects within the HEC and Station F community.

We connect and empower young entrepreneurs, students, investors and other professionals through a dynamic mix of activities encompassing the following:

  • Pitch competitions: we are featuring 10 startups selected out of 60 applicants through two competitions with up to 5,000€ in prize money

  • Panels: we have two panels in AI and Fintech, featuring entrepreneurs and industry experts as speakers

  • Networking: the entire event will be organized to facilitate networking, culminating in a cocktail for all participants, speakers and jury members

The event will take place on June 6th, 2018 at Station F in Paris.

Olivier Godement

Olivier Godement leads startups operations and development in France and Southern Europe for Stripe, a technology company that builds economic infrastructure for the internet. Before joining Stripe in 2014, he created SparkUp, one of France’s first business crowdfunding platforms. Olivier is a graduate of SciencesPo and ESSEC.

Alexandre Prot

Alexandre Prot

Alexandre Prot (HEC Paris and INSEAD graduate) is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor in Internet of Things (IoT), fintech and SaaS companies. While overseeing financial tasks at Smokio, he had been tremendously frustrated by his banking experience. That’s why he decided to launch Qonto: the banking alternative for entrepreneurs and startups. Qonto raised a seed round of €1.6m in 2016.

Olivier Goy

Olivier Goy

Olivier founded 123Investment Managers in 2000 with the desire to democratize access to private equity by opening the asset class to retail investors. 123Investment Managers now has over 70,000 private clients and 1.3 billion euros of assets under management invested in 108 European non-listed companies. Olivier was the CEO of 123Investment Managers until September 2014 and is now Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Claire Calmejane

Claire Calmejane

Claire Calmejane joined Lloyds Banking Group in October 2012, serving 28 million customers, where she is currently Director of Innovation and Digital Center of Excellence. She was instrumental in building LBG innovation function and digital people strategy. Prior to joining LBG, Claire has spent 7 years in management consulting. She also led the founding phase of a research program on digital transformation at MIT, Cambridge.

Olivier Bossard

Olivier Bossard

Olivier Bossard is the Executive Director of the flagship MSc Finance program at HEC Paris. Prior to his 25 years career in Capital Markets across Paris, London and Frankfurt, Olivier earned an Engineering Degree from Ecole Centrale Paris, with Applied Maths specialization, complemented by a MSc in Maths & Artificial Intelligence (with Cryptography and Neural Networks specialization) from Yokohama National University in Japan.

Alexis Robert spent four years as an entrepreneur, as the cofounder & CTO of ShowMango, a subscription platform for events in London, and PayinTech (previously known as MyBee), a fintech startup in Paris. He joined Kima Venture in Paris and works to identify and evaluate new investments and to build and improve internal software tools.

Erwan Scornet

Since september 2016, Erwan Sconet is an assistant professor at the Center for Applied Mathematics (CMAP) in Ecole Polytechnique near Paris. His researches interests focus on theoretical statistics and Machine Learning with a particular emphasis on nonparametric estimates. He has done a PhD thesis on a particular algorithm of Machine Learning called random forests, under the supervision of Gérard Biau (LSTA - Paris 6) and Jean-Philipe Vert (Institut Curie).

    What could perfectly complement the great FinTech panel than some insights on an emmerging way to finance entrepreneurship: Initial Coin Offering leveraging the blockchain technology.

    Several great successes have happened over the past few months. It now looks clear that ICO is a robust way to seek for funds.

    However the subject is still subject to polemics and the intent of this panel is to discuss the risks and limitations of ICO and their regulation.

  • HEC Innovation Awards Ceremony

      June 6, 2018, 5:40PM,  20 minutes

    HEC Innovation was launched to support HEC early-stage entrepreneurs. Alumni from Silicon Valley got together to launch this and offer a financial prize as well as mentorship from top entrepreneurs and executives of Silicon Valley. We are proud to include this prize into HEC Seed event, aligned with the mission of supporting early stage entrepreneurs and the HEC community. HEC Innovation will award 25,000€ money prizes to startups which are pre-selected based on an independent judging process. The selected teams will be given a chance to pitch their startups on the HEC Seed stage.

  • HEC Seed Awards Ceremony

    A total of 5,000€ from the HEC Entrepreneurship Center and a Stripe premium package will be awarded to the winners of the two pitch competitions. The exact division of the prize money is TBD based on the stage of startups shortlisted and the industry in which they operate.
